Epsom salt on a navel piercing?

i just got my navel pierced today and i'm not sure how to care for it. i am VERY susceptible to get infections. i got my ears pierced when i was eighteen and it took them six months to heal. nothing worked to get rid of the recurring infections until i found an epsom salt solution on the internet. i decided to try it and it cleared up my ears and healed them completely within about three weeks. i'm wondering if epsom salt might be right for me since it helped so much with my ears. if it worked on my ears, would it also work on my navel piercing?
