A substitute for epsom salt when making bath salt?

I'm planning on making a Birthday Gift for my friend, she's turning 17. So I wanted to make her some bath salt, but I'm not sure what "Epsom Salt" is, so can someone help me finding a substitute for epsom salt that you could find around the house? Please.
