Is there a better solution to my problem with CS3?

I last reported that when I open the paintbrush tool and the brush palette, that nothing is displayed in the window to the right, showing scattering, texture, etc. Occasisonally it appears. But when I reopen the program after some time, I get the same ms "invalid numeric entry. An integer between -180 and +180 is required.Last valid value restored. OK." I clicked on OK three to five times before the box disappeared, and still there is no image. I have appealed to various websites on the problem but they do not respond yet. Some sites do not grant me access because I have forgotten my old password and applied for another. I get a ms "Someone is trying to use your account." That is only ME. I still cannot enter. In addition, I have tried to download newer software as suggested but it does not open. I had to delete and try again; but none of the downloads opened for me. Will someone give me a better solution?
