Can girlfriend put your name on the birth certificate without permission and proof?

Just wondering if you broke up with your ex for four months and she claimed that you are the father of her child and you are unsure (because you wore on protection and only had sex less with her when you were in a relationship), can you accept the responsibility of being the father if it shows that the baby is truly yours?
