How long should you wait to ride after a hoof abcess?

two weeks ago (on sunday) my horse started limping, we gave her a few days off and i rode her on Friday (I just walked and she was doing good) On Saturday I got back on her and we picked up the trot and she wasnt doing to good. I got off after one time around the arena and we called out the vet. That Monday the vet came out and found an abcess in her hoof. He recommended we keep her in a stall for a few weeks to keep away the moisture and bacteria (and muck it out every one or two days) We put her in a stall. He has us lay two pads on the bottom of the hoof then wrap it with vet wrap (or a material like it ) and then put duct tape over it. Oh and before we put the pads on we put this gel stuff on to draw out the puss. Then we give her medicine every day. Every third day we had to come out and change the bandage. We soaked it in epsom salt and hot water, then dried it and bandaged it. she was so good we decided to do it everyday (I think we might have skipped a day or two) on Thursday we walked her around on Friday we walked her around and lunged her. On Saturday, we lunged her but she still had a bit of a little limp (but nothing compared to what it was before) The next day she had lost her bandage. Her stall had just been cleaned so that was good but it had dirt all up in the hole (now this hole isnt just like a crack it is like a full on hole) we soaked it and bandaged it. On Saturday i just walked on her bareback and we picked up the trot just for a little bit. We think we might call a farrier. I am so worried about her, am I doing this right? I have only had her for about a month now and i just dont want to injure her even more but none of us are experienced in abcesses..
